Kanban : WIP items in pending state for long

How do we handle - if in the middle of working on various work-items, in Kanban, we realize that an external team intervention is required to move the same to closure.

if the external team, cannot immediately jump-in, how will this handled.
can we park them ?
Then what would happen to WIP Limits ?

Kanban is a visual indicator, and it gives early signals of what is needed for the continuous flow of work.

If external intervention is needed, then work with people who can solve it. If needed you can park and can pull work from the previous process as you have WIP and have the capacity.

How can an we show dependency? eg: One team kanban board has tasks which got stuck due to prerequisite from other team. They will have their own kanban. So how can we show the dependency manually on board?
