Can you please explain the burndown/up charts for iterations and release levels and from exam point of view?

I feel there can be twisted or understanding Q's on Burndown/burnup and cumulative dgms for iterations and release. Can you please explain or provide any mechanism so that we can answer any Q's on this with much ease and quickly -:)
