why-use-bac/cpi

What would be the to-complete performance index of your project based on EAC, given that actual cost of your project is \$200,000, cost variance is \$20,000 and the initial cost baseline of your project is \$300,000?

a.1.2

b.1.1

c.1

d.1.3

Re: why-use-bac/cpi

The Questions asks for the TCPI based on EAC.
and the formula is:

TCIP = (BAC-EV)/(EAC-AC)

Now lets see what we have got,

AC=\$200,000
CV=\$20,000
Initial Cost Baseline = BAC = \$300,000

Now,
EV = CV + AC
= \$220,000

CPI = EV/AC = 220000/200000 = 1.1

EAC = BAC/CPI = 300000/1.1 = 272727.27

TCIP = (300000 - 220000)/(272727.27 - 200000) =1.1

The formula for EAC is taken as BAC/CPi because the variance is expected to happen at the same rate .. (No data to think other wise)

Good one Shantanu
Given the information revised EAC is BAC/CPI

Diana is leading a project which has 12 team members. Stacy is leading another project which is been executed from 3 different locations and has 6 team members each. Both these projects are part of a program managed by Sofia. Sofia decides to move two of Diana’s team members into Stacy’s project and reduce Stacy’s team by half. How many communications channel has Dianna reducing in total in her program?

Re: why-use-bac/cpi

Hi Atul, I think the confusing part is 'Sofia decides to move two of Diana’s team members into Stacy’s project and reduce Stacy’s team by half'

It should be 'Sofia decides to reduce stacy team by half and then move two of Diana’s team members into Stacy’s project'

We will rectify it.
Hopefully now the explanation on izenbridge test makes sense to you if not let me know

Steps you should consider is
#1 - Calculate total comm channels in program
#2 - Calculate total comm channels in program after the reduction
#3 calculate difference (reduction in communication channel)

With regards to your exams, let us know your score in Mocks and hope you are focusing on your weak areas

Experts - Correct me if my understanding is wrong

Step 1 - Calculate total Communication Channels in the program - Before Reduction
1 (Program manager) + Total Diana project count 13 (12+ Diana) + Total Stacy Project Count 19 (3 * 6 +1) = 33
Formula = n(n-1)/2 = 33 *32 /2 = 528

Step 2 - Calculate total Communication Channels in the program - After reduction
1 (Program manager) + Total Diana project count 11 ( 12 -2 + Diana, out of 12, 2 of them moved to Stacy) + Total Stacy Project Count 12 (out of 18, reduced to 9 + 2 came from Diana +1 - Stacy itself) = 1 + 11 + 12 = 24 = 276

Step 3 - Subtract Step 1 total - Step 2 total
528 - 276 = 252

Hi Thiru,
Is this question from Scordo's practice exercise? The verbiage of the questions looks familiar!

Re: why-use-bac/cpi

How many communications channel has Dianna reducing in total in her program?
Should this not be Sofia (Prg manager).

Then step 2 - when moving 2 team members form diana team to stacy team ...
18+2 = 20 then divide by 2 = 10 + Sofia = 11
11+11+1 = 23 in total...

correct me if i am wrong..
