Configuration Management - PMStudy.com

You are the project manager of a pharmaceutical company responsible for releasing a new drug in the market. While managing the project, you have created several documents (e.g., project management plan; risk registers and other registers; project calendars; change management documentation; etc.). All these documents should be stored in:

Choice 1 Historical information
Choice 2 Project files
Choice 3 Project or phase closure documents
Choice 4 Configuration management system

I thought the right answer was 4 ... but it turned out to be 2. Won;t we use the configuration management system to store the project management plan and other important documents listed above.

Reference to Page # 104 PMBOK5 , it is the Project Files.
The Configuration Management System is for recording the LATEST VERSIONS of the Documents. It is more concerned about the VERSIONS only rather than the contents/informations of the documents.

You may check our video on Configuration Management

Now this question, yes all plans are usually managed by configuration management system , but not necessary all project documents, since we define what is managed or controlled in configuration management plan.
Explore our online PMP Program , it makes PMP Easy :-) http://goo.gl/ZmD3xF
