y-axis - risk exposure
x-axis - iterations/sprints - since you would usually update this burndown after each iteration.

### Re: Risk Burndown Chart

Dear Sanjay,

Based on this figure it seems X axis should have Time Period (Months) instead of just iteration.

Cheers,

Iteration is also one form of time measure. If it is Scrum, you would usually update it every sprint, else you may do every week or fortnight.

Thank you Sanjay and Bhabani for sharing the details!

Just one small doubt, how to calculate Risk Exposure when project starts as probability and impact will not be known,

### Re: Risk Burndown Chart

beginning of project you will have nothing. you have to identify these components step by step. primarily this particular exercise is done as a part of iteration 0 scope and further this graph gets updated/monitored during subsequent iterations.

Step 1: Risk: identify description of the risk in a few lines.
Step 2: Probability: identify likelihood of the risk.
Step 3: Impact / Size of loss: this could be simple rating varies from 1 to 5 [ 1 being less damage , 5 being maximum damage ]
Step 4: Exposure: P x I
