Project changes

Q1. During project executing, a large number of changes are made to the project. The project manager should:

A. wait until all changes are known and print out a new schedule.
B. make approved changes as needed, but retain the schedule baseline.
C. make only the changes approved by management.
D. talk to management before any changes are made.
Answer :B

Hint: Original schedule baseline must always be retained for monitoring progress.

Can someone pls confirm if this is right answer. My anwer is C.

Option B is correct.

All the change request must go through perform integrated change control. Only approved change should be made.

Please remember CCB can have many members ( i.e. PM, SME, management representatives, stakeholders etc...)

Also PM should avoid baseline modifications unless absolute necessary and there is no other option left.

For baseline modifications, change request should be raised and should be approved by CCB.

is Hint part of question then option B is ok

I think the correct answer is B, even without the hint.
Its depend on project change management plan, have saying that , PM most of time will be able to approve change requests which are not changing project baselines(Cost, schedule, and Scope), in case there is a change request lead to change to Schedule baseline (from impact analysis), he/she should present it to CCB.

ITEM B is the best answer to me too,since one of the main duty of the PM is to retain the schedule baseline by some compression techniques such as crashing or fast tracking :geek:
