EEFs and OPAs

Postby salman_2005 Thu Oct 04, 2018 8:24 pm

Is policy an EEF or OPA?

In the definition it is an OPA but Policies are not in immediate control of the PROJECT team, so it should be EEF?

Please help me understand.

Thanks

If it is organisational policy then OPA. Organisational plans, processes, policies, procedures are part of OPA. They are developed by and
used by the organisation – and which you actually use in the management of the project. Organisational Process Assets would include virtually anything the organisation has developed that you can use (or organisational policies state you must use) in the management of the project

hi,

Are changes or implementation or adoption in the Policies in our control,

If yes, then It is OPA ( organizational policy, strategy policy )

if not, they it is EEF ( just like environment policy/safety policy)

Pl correct if I am wrong.

thanks

partly correct, even for organizational policies , PM cannot always make changes to it so best way is to remember if its internal to organization or something that is externally influenced
thanks

Hi Manish,
As you said, at times, internally influenced policies are not in control of the PM. In this case, how these internal Policies can be considered as OPAs?

Thanks you.

because they are part of performing organization ,
keep it simple. if it belongs to organization (even if it is or is not in control of PM) it is OPA
