A PM found following EVM analysis for a recent project
SPI: 0.7, CPI: 1. Select the most appropriate option:
a. The Project finished behind the schedule but on budget
b. The Project finished ahead of the schedule but on budget
c. The Project finished on schedule and on budget
d. The Project was probably cancelled or short closed, in between and at the time of closure, the project was on budget and behind schedule
In this question, correct answer given is “d”. My question is
1. HOW DO YOU ARRIVE AT A CONCLUSION FROM THE ABOVE DATA THAT THE PROJECT WAS “CANCELLED” OR “SHORT CLOSED”? MAY I KNOW THE RATIONAL BEHIND SUCH CONCLUSION?
2. WHY OPTION “a” WERE NOT CONSIDERED AS “CORRECT ANSWER”?
3. WHY THE WORD “PROBABLY" WAS USED?
