Procurement Management Plan

Postby nazrulq Sun Jul 16, 2017 7:10 am

Question:
You are considering hiring service of some vendors regarding a utility development in your project. You have started with Plan procurement process, as a seasoned project manager in your opinion which of the following statements is true regarding the procurement management plan?

1.The procurement management plan defines the statement of work which contains the details of the procurement item/ service in specific terms.
2.The procurement management plan explains how multiples vendors should be managed
3.The procurement management plan is an output of the plan Contracting process
4.None of the statements are true

I think correct answer should be option 1. Correct Answer given as Option 3. That is conduct procurement.

Can Manish Explain ,please!

Option 1 , cannot be the correct answer as procurement management plan deals about How to handle the procurement for the Project rather than , what is being handled in the Procurement .

I will think the answer is B....2.The procurement management plan explains how multiples vendors should be managed

The Procurement Mgt Plan explains how procurement will be conducted (process of managing procurement relationships and contracts), controlled and closed.

I think the question is not properly formed. Conduct Procurement is dealing with sellers proposal and awarding contract.

Here is another question which is not clearly stated too

Decisions made in developing the procurement management plan may have least influence on ……..

1.Project Schedule

2.Project Budget

3.Project Human Resource Need

4.Risk Management Plan

Correct Answer option 4.

It is understandable Fixed Price Contract transfer risk to the seller but should be mentioned in the question.

Option 4 is correct for this question. Yes you are right that by procuring any service/product in our project we are transferring risk but impact of risk transfer would be on "Risk Register" or any other risk document but it can't impact "Risk Management Plan".

Answer should be 1. Because Plan Procurement Management Process is producing Procurement SOW as an O/P. So it does define Procurement SOW.
