Project Status

Postby nazrulq Thu Jun 29, 2017 10:04 pm

In the home construction project, the CPI is 0.80 and SPI are 1.2. What could be the best possible reason?

1 A critical resource went on sick leave for a long period of time, which had not been anticipated earlier.
2 The cost of raw materials required for construction increased by 15%. You had anticipated a cost increase of 20% in your project plans.
3 In anticipation of delays, the project was crashed to decrease the duration.
4 There were seven days waiting time in the curing of concrete, and work could not be done during that time.

Correct Answer: 3

This could be relevant. Other options are irrelevant.

This is actually a good question.....I think C is the best answer too....the CPI below 1 indicates that there is a cost overrun (over budget), which could be cost by an increase in resource cost but in this case, could be cost by crashing (adding additional resource along the critical path. Cashing is a schedule compression technique). As a result of increasing resources along with critical path (that leads to increase in cost), it also shortens schedule. The SPI of above 1 shows that the compression increased cost and puts the project ahead of schedule.

Again, I think this is a good question

this looks to be the best option and I agree with VCAB
