Question on Over budget

Postby vaishnavi Thu Apr 06, 2017 2:13 pm

Your project is running slightly over budget. You mention this to another project manager, who suggests you shift some of your expenses to indirect costs that are not charged to your project budget. What do you do?

A)Crash the project.
b)Use your contingency reserves.
C)According to the other project manager, examine project expenses to see if any are indirect expenses that could be taken off your project.
D)Re-estimate the project costs.

I feel last option is correct answer -Option A is not relevant to question,Indirect expenses are costs associated with the project and it is not truthful to get them off the project reports, Option B- Is used for Known and unknown risks.

Please clarify which is the best answer,

Option #c is the starting point as it will help save money on project if indirect expenses are booked on your project. and then you can ofcourse adjust the cost baseline if needed.
