Hello Sir,

I had some queries on EVM.

1. TCPI formula and EAC formula.
- One variant on EAC is EAC = AC + [(BAC-EV)/(CPI*SPI)]
- Both TCPI and EAC (formula above) are driven by remaining work. How to differentiate when to use which formula.

2. ETC has 3 variants. When to use which formula.
- ETC = AC - EAC
- ETC = BAC - EV
- ETC = (BAC - EV)/CPI

### EVM - Different views of EAC

There is always a confusion on different formulae for EAC and ETC calculation in different scenarios e.g. typical, atypical, fundamentally flawed estimate etc. can you please cover this in todays session? .

Let's say I am software development company and I have following tasks
Requirement Gathering - planned 4 days - but consultant spent - 5 days because of more discussions were happening etc.
Creating Functional Requirement documentation and MOM's etc. - planned 3 days - but consultant completed in 2 days
Technical team Development and Testing - planned 20 days - but team ended up spending 40 days

Company charges - Per day developer rate is \$500 and considering only 1 resource working on all tasks.
How would we do EVM at the end of Development and Testing.

PV = 4 days * 500 +3* 500+20 *500 = 2000+1500+10000 = 13500
EV =
AC =

Am I getting confused in calculating EV and AC ..wouldn't that be coming same.?

if there are upcoming tasks which are like below how would we forecast how much we are going to spent and how much time it will be taking?
Data migration activity - planned for 4 days
UAT planned for 3 days
Training planned for 2 days
Go-live setup planned for 2 days

Good Point ... EV at the end of the project is alway BAC or equals the panned value.... since project is ended now...whatever you planned for is done...so you have earned all the value...

The Actual cost in such cases is the money we spend in the project.... will discuss it in evening...this is a good point.

Can you include a session on Critical Path method and critical chain method and also explain their differences and its applications from an IT project perspective.
