WPI vs WPD

A project team has recently computed the project's current schedule and cost performance indices. They have also calculated the new estimate to complete and the TCPI based on the new estimate at completion. The project key stakeholders are not fully aware of the earned value management process. These measures in this case are an example of?
a Work performance data
b Lessons learned
c Work performance information
d Learning curve for the stakeholders

Re: WPI vs WPD

Hi,

Its Work Performance Information.

Work Performance Data are the raw observation and measurements ( e.g start and finish dates, actual cost, actual duration etc.)
Work Performance information are data collected from various controlling processes ( e.g status of deliverable, forecasted estimates to complete )

Re: WPI vs WPD

Hi ,

Yes its Work performance data .

Work performance data- Row data -
further analysis of Work performance data (Row data) will give Work performance information-
More further analysis will be Work performance report (For senior management or presentation ).

Re: WPI vs WPD

Hi,

As per the PMBOK Guide, the work performance information is “the performance data collected from various controlling processes, analyzed in context and integrated based on relationships across areas; e.g. status of deliverable, and forecasted estimates to complete, etc.”,Here, you will analyze the work performance data. You will compare the planned performance with actual performance.

As the question says " They have also calculated the new estimate to complete and the TCPI based on the new estimate at completion" & "These measures in this case are an example of?" , TCPI is T&T of Control cost and its one of the output is WPI.

Not sure how can it be WPD & not WPI.

As per the PMBOK Guide, the work performance data is “the raw observations and measurements identified during activities performed to carry out the project work; e.g. actual cost, actual duration, and percent of work physically completed.”

Might be the possibility where i am unable to relate the actual question asked / misunderstood the question.
Regards,

Amit.

Re: WPI vs WPD

@ Amit: I agree with your point. The answer should be WPI. But Scordo cannot be wrong
Still does not make sense.

Here is the explanation :

Explanation/Answer : A - The scenario gives a situation where the project team has calculated some measures that need to be transformed into a format that the project stakeholders might understand. These measures are work performance data for this project. Work performance information is always in a format that can be easily understood by the project stakeholders. This is clearly neither an example of lessons learned nor is it an example of a learning curve for the stakeholders. [PMBOK 5th edition, Page 411]
