Depends on the situation cant give a blanket response , usually an issue is converted to a CR, if there is a change needed to solve the issue.

Sir, below question is from izenbridge mock test 1.in given situation I consider to do the analysis before giving change request as my next move but the correct answer is C. Please explain
A project manager (PM) is handing a high value and a high-risk project in a globally recognized MNC. There are few high-value critical parts whose costs are not stable due to market instabilities yet required to be outsourced immediately. After placement of contract, the PM receives intermediate invoices from the vendor as per agreed schedule. Upon reviewing the invoices, PM realizes that the cost escalations are too high and will eventually impact the cost baseline. What should the project manager do next?

Cancel the contract and change the contract type to fixed price with Economic Price Adjustment Type.

Report to the senior management

Raise a change request for approval

Do analysis if cost escalations are valid

hi manish - can you please answer? this question does not state if the cost overcharge is okay due to the type of contract. So can the market being unstable be a good enough reason to skip analysis and file the formal change request directly?

Hi, the question does not mention which type of contract is signed, so I would always go with option D as next step,
Option A - does not make sense , since the market fluctuations are known and no seller will agre eon FP
Option B - this is not needed unless some unethical practice is established from the seller
option C - CR will be next step if the invoice is found to be genuine
