What is difference between Project SOW and Procurement SOW, or are they same? Project SOW is an input in the initiating process group (for charter) whereas Procurement SOW gets generated during Planning process group, means after the initiation process.

Project SOW is necessary for creating the Project Charter , whereas the Procurement SOW is necessary for creating an Agreement with the Sellers/Vendors.

Is it right understanding that Procurement SOW (of customer) would become the Project SOW for a vendor, that means both are same?

For PMP Exam point of view ,the Project Manager needs to be considered on the Buyer's side , unless otherwise specifically mentioned. For Vendor , the Procurement SOW from Customer's end becomes Project SOW for creating their Project Charter. This is my understanding too. Any expert comment is most welcome.

Thanks.

Your understanding is right, in all knowledge area except procurement we consider our self as provider or supplier , where we manage customer and get scope validated using validate scope, But in case of Procurement Knowledge area we look from buyer perspective and we give work to seller, and we expect seller to execute remaining knowledge area for this work in his environment
