Earned Value - SPI at project completion

Postby kniraj Mon Dec 01, 2014 5:48 pm

You are completing your final project report. You include information on the final variances. If the project was scheduled to take 12 months, and it finished in 14 months, what would your final SPI results be?

Not enough information to determine[/list]

The answer is 1, can someone please help and explain this.

When a project is completed , it's SPI =1 and SV = 0
This is the thumb rule !!! :)

SPI is not a measure of how much behind we are from schedule, it is how much % of planned work is completed till this time, so when project finish we end up finishing all the work may be delayed by time but all gets done.

So at the end of project we achieve the complete planned value and that makes EV = PV and SPI =1 , i stressed on this part in my EVM webinar , here are the 3 videos you may like to refer to.
