Control schedule

Postby prax Wed Aug 20, 2014 6:52 am

Hi, I have a doubt: The "control schedule" process, comes under: "monitoring and control". Now if "monitoring & control" generates "work performance reports" as output, then the output of "control schedule" should also be "work performance report". How should I remember this ?

You may use our ITTO Excel sheet to visualize this, use filters... like filter output as "Work Performance Report" you will see only one process : Monitor and Control Project Work

and when you filer for Work Performance Information , you will see all KA control processes except Integration management

Validate Scope
Control Scope
Control Schedule
Control Costs
Perform Quality Control
Control Communications
Monitor and Control Risks
Control Procurements
Control Stakeholder Engagement

You can get ITTO sheet from here : http://www.izenbridge.com/pmp/resources/

On the other hand , the new terms as per PMBOK5 for the following processes are :
Perform Quality Control (OLD) ...... Control Quality (NEW)
Monitor and Control Risks (OLD) ..... Control Risk (NEW)
This should be okey ...

Thanks for the ITTO sheet, but I saw in the sheet that:

1) For say Integration -> Monitor & Control -> Work performance Information is an Input -> Work performance report is an output
Also for Integration -> Change control -> Work performance report is an Input

2) but for, Time mgmt -> Control Schedule -> Work performance data is an input -> Work performance information is output

Why the difference please ?

I also downloaded the ITTO excel file. This is quite handy indeed. Thanks Saket for that.
