Passed PMP in first attempt on 18th Jan 2017

Postby gkadam Thu Jan 19, 2017 1:22 pm

I cleared PMP exam in my first attempt on 18/01/2017 with 3-Proficient and 2-Moderately Proficient level.

I would summarize my experience and lessons learned in a following way
1) Preparation Methodology - It took me almost 5 months to appear for exam (Owing to job priorities and lack of consistency in study :) )
# Saket Sirs knowledge area wise videos, Followed by Rita's book was my study material. I read PMBOK but not all chapters (I found PMBOK as a sleeping pill :) )
# I practiced all izenbridge knowledge area wise tests & Rita's end of chapter questions after reading each and every chapter.
# After completing all chapters I started giving Process wise mock tests of izenbridge e.g Initiating, Planning, Maths, EVM etc, (I have scored average 80% in all exams) also Christopher Scordo's question sets (Mock test no. 13 onwards since 1 to 12 are very easy).
# More importantly I used to have a think about ITTOs by selecting any process randomly rather than memorizing (Though I never managed to figure out all ITTOs for any process) but it develops a systematic way to imagine what a process is.
# Just a week before exam I attempted two full length tests of izenbridge (I scored around 83%) . I never tried attempting Oliver's questions.

2) Exam Experience - Exam was not a surprising after having tried many mock tests.
# Maths was very easy - got few questions over earned value management and PERT
# questions on identifying ITTOs based on a given situation
# Few questions on Kick off meeting
# Situation based questions to identify actions to be taken

A big thanks to Mr. Saket Bansal, Ms. Jyoti Gupta & izenbridge team and I wish you a best luck for your PMP journey. :)
