Passed PMP !!!

Postby gkaur Mon Jun 06, 2016 5:34 am

I am a PMP now !!!

I am sure all the people on this forum know what it means to be a PMP, as it takes lots of effort and time away from friends and family.

I would like to thank iZenBridge's team and specially Saket for making such wonderful videos. I am sure other stuff over the site is equally good but I was unable to explore anything other than videos.

For me Rita's book and Fasttrack Simulation CD, Saket's videos, Scrodo's questions - combo worked perfectly. But everyone has a different recipe.

Thanks again !!!

So my journey of PMP and lessons learned were like this:

Plan I followed:
1. I started studying Rita and PMBOK together in month of March (March and April I was studying mostly 1-2 hours on weekdays and 5-6 hours over the weekend).
2. I re-read Rita.
3. Started doing Rita's Fasttrack Simulation my score was around 70%-75%
4. Then in starting of May I got enrolled myself to iZenBridge, started watching videos.
5. Started doing Scordo's questions and started reviewing every right and wrong question from PMBoK, it helped to revise PMBoK.
6. I also did mock test for PMStudy, Great questions, makes you go back to PMBoK more and more. Although I didn't like how they explained answers
7. Last 2 week I was doing following:
    7.1 Watching Videos
7.2 Giving test - I gave at least 8-10 full four hours test
    7.3 Reviewing test
    7.4 Reading PMBoK
7.5 Making ITTO for every process NOT FOR MEMORIZING, it starts making more sense while drawing those.
In the last week all tests I gave, i was scoring 78%-85% in all the tests.

I got 3Ps and 2MPs in my PMP final exam. Which was good for me :)
If I get chance to go back in the time, then I would follow following strategy:

1.Start studying Rita and watch iZenBridge's videos.
2.Read PMBoK, it will start making some sense.
3.Re-read Rita and watch videos again.
4. Start doing as many as possible mock test, specially Rita's Fasttrack, Scordo and PMstudy. Review PMBoK for every right and wrong questions.
5. Make ITTO on the paper, again NOT FOR MEMORIZING, but to get clear picture in your head.
6. Last 2 week I would do following:
    6.1 Watching Videos
6.2 Giving test - More tests
    6.3 Reviewing test
    6.4 Reading PMBoK
6.5 Making ITTO for every process.

I hope it will help someone.
