Passed PMP Exam (Dubai) Today 05-01-2016

Postby sunildubai15 Tue Jan 05, 2016 3:36 pm

At last I have passed pmp in 2nd attempt but on border line :D .
My Journey was being quite long, started in May 2014 with attending a training course for 35 PDU and had my first attempt in Sep, 2014 but couldn't cleared and left with little margin. my actual journey started after coming across Saket video and izen forum. though, I had came across saket video before September however I didn't like it that time. later by chance I watched one of saket video on TCPI which I like so much that I had decided to enroll in online course from izenbridge.

My sincere thanks to izenbridge team particularly Saket, Manish and Jyoti (for getting me enroll in the online course). Saket videos are unparallel and honestly cleared all of my doubts and given a new perspective of looking at PMP. same goes to izenbridge forum as well. forum is too good and huge knowledgebase. moreover, lot of active members, izen staff (including saket) are very proactive in answering queries.

Thanska a lot to Ujjal and Mahfuz for continuously clearing my doubts

ok let me share my experience now

1st attempt pmp
nearly practiced 2500 question but didn't bothered to look at concept, result all you know so big lesson learned please don't go behind questions, clear your concepts

2nd attempt pmp
360 degree change in approach, completely run behind concepts and minimum focus on practice question however still practice around 2000 questions
ok so you one can imagine virtually I haven't left any practice exam which I didn't tried

one important thing the most of the scenario based question coming in PMP, you may not find in any practice test, those are too practical but nothing out of PMBOK
however who says PMP won't repeat questions. this time I can say, at least 10+ question which rayen posted, or whosoever given recently (2 weeks). in addition to that I go at least more than 30 questions which I have practiced in one of the practice test though I didn't get good score still I was quite comfortable attempting questions (thanks to saket for strengthening my concepts)

pmp exams is very confusing and options are so close than your head will jerk.

I still remember when Ujjal got upset from me and asking me to focus on concepts and practice questions to clear concept (it was the best advice-believe me)

I really owe to Mahfuz for motivating me in the morning (that was the decisive factor)

In exam
8-10 questions on EVM - quite easy
4 questions on critical path (one big diagram-no time to do that)
lot of questions on change control
lot of questions on quality tools
8-10 questions on project charter
6-8 question on procurement
around 6-8 question direct on ITTO
5-6 questions on stakeholder

My sincere advice to saket that change their pattern of Quampus questions. they are too direct on PMBOK, still very good quality and difficult as compared to available on internet. try to add live scenario questions to help test takers but if you keep practicing izen, automatically will get grip on PMBOK

so thanks to all and wish you all best of luck
Best Regards
Sunil Sharma

First of all Thanks you all for your kind wishes

Now on Arjun Query
There were around 7-8 question came on HR but not so difficult
communication channel question now a days coming quite tricky
4 member including PM, out of which one member said will do part-time and another member also joined part-time so what is the comm. channel
my last 3 days strategy was totally focus on PMBOK an focus preparation process group wise to ensure to clear PMP
most confusing question were from blending changing, risk and quality together but hardly there was any question which I didn't understand.
the language of exam is quite easy and questions are not so lengthy (may be my reading speed is good).
don't stuck on question if you a doubt just put in review and move forward
I finished the complete 200 cycle in 2.40 min and then went for review questions
read all outputs (particulary updates PMP, Project Documents and OPA)

change control were quite tricky but follow the sequence
if you major delivery is late by 3 month what you will do first
communicate to sponser
check risk register
talk to vendor

exam is not difficult but tricky and if one know how to apply PMBOK in practical scenario, that is what they are checking.

Congrats Sunil.

Just want to say, its unethical from PMI side to discuss or share what questions we recieved in PMP exam.

My suggestion avoid it.

My apologize. I thought the same but somehow my intention to help my friends (even i don't know anybody personally) overcome ethics

My only intention to disclose few question here to make the other understand the questions coming in the exam are from the live scenario so that they would be better prepared.

Sorry Again
