Appeared for PMP Exam and could not Pass

Postby meenakhan Wed Dec 16, 2015 4:48 pm

Hi,

I recently appeared for PMP Exam and could not pass the Exam.
I tried following all the instructions as was being hearing like reading Rita book few times, Rita's Fast Track, attempting questions on multiple sites like iZenbridge, Exam Central, Oliver's, Headfirst , Saket Bansal Videos, PMBOK 47 Process Chart, but still could not perform on the exam.
I have scheduled myself again for Jan 03, 2016 before PMP changes the exam pattern and want to pass this time.
Please suggest me anything which I am missing and should I have done to score good in the exam. I really want to make this time.
I wish I would be in India so that I can attend physical training in Saket Bansal institute :(
I appreciate inputs from everyone, please guide.

Thanks a lot.

Meena

Thanks for the reply.

I got more questions on Time Management, Control Charts, Cost Management and I think I have gaps there more and trying to recover them by looking at as many Saket’s videos as possible, doing more practice questions and mostly focusing on iZenbridge and Exam Central sites.
I also felt that 4 hours was not enough as in some questions I spent too much time as they were situational based and not at all straightforward.
Please suggest me better ways to do my best in the exam.

Thanks

Hi Meena,
Sorry to hear about your result. LL means Lessons Learned.
I guess you have watched only few videos by Saket Bansal which are available on you tube. I recommend you to buy our complete online PMP course, many pmp aspirants take our online PMP course and clear the exam after failure in first try. Our online PMP course will give you the feel of classroom only, all the videos are in class room style only.

All the best!!

Sorry to hear..

Most of the time the math questions are easy if you know the formulas, however for the situational question, please try to understand which process and knowledge area they are talking about. by doing so, u will be able to get correct answers.
Also take good online full mock tests and go through the solutions even though you have answered correct because sometimes we just answer without knowing exactly the reason behind marking that answer right. u will also gain more knowledge on how to solve these situational questions.

All the best for your next exam

Thank you all so much for the valuable advices. I would review them and would follow them.

Can you please tell that if I would like to attend any Webinar or any online course or anything related to Exam preparation defibed by Saket Bansal; how I can do that as I am in Canada and my timings are different. Also Saket Bansal videos are really good and they really helps in clarifying the doubts.
I have only few days left now as my exam is on 3Jan and I want to plan my studies in such a way that I cover all the required materials in this time span.

I really appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks much

Very sorry to hear about the results.

I would advice you to identify the gaps first and then plan to fill it up.

As ujjal mentioned, follow lessons learned and see where you went wrong, you have mentioned about time, I would recommend you to practice Christopher Scordo lite exams from 14 to 18(if you're PMI member, it's free), these are lengthy questions, reading fast is key and helps a lot, especially for the one who is not native English speakers, I had that problem, but practiced during the mock exams helped me in the real exam (I have completed in around 3 hours 20 minutes).

I also recommend Saket videos ( full course definitely helps), excellent teaching you ever find for PMP and also visit this forum more often to understand key concepts.

Last but not least - Don't loose your confidence.

Good luck...

Thank you soo much.

Yes I am the PMI member and Ia m able to see these questions.
Working on them now.
Just wanted to make sure that is there anything specefic in these 14 to 18 only or these are the only required ones for PMP. Plaese clarify.

Thanks again and I really appreciate everyone'e input.
