Hello friends,

In Chapter 6: Traceability and Monitoring : Lesson Baseline & Monitoring Requirements
If somebody get a new idea/requirement the baseline cannot be modified and we have to follow change management process.

do we include the new requirement in a new baseline version ? in case yes then we will have many baseline version to refer while performing traceabiliy and monitoring.

Let's discuss what is the baseline of requirement:

The baseline of Requirements: It is the snapshot of approved requirements. If a requirement is baselned it means it is approved by the stakeholders and they confirm that these requirements will solve the problem. This approved version is used for the implementation and used as a reference point of monitoring to see - are we on track to implement these requirements?

Now if something new comes in, stakeholders need to see if the new item is good for many areas like cost is feasible, how it will increase/decrease risks etc.

If change looks good, it is approved, and a new baseline is created with this new change. Now, this is the latest baselined version and only latest version is used in future.
