Stakeholder List

Postby syed123 Fri Jun 30, 2017 6:36 pm

Hi:

What is the difference between Stakeholder list and Stakeholder Register? Does the BA need to maintain two? What are the columns in each of these document.

Clarification appreciated.

Thanks.

It is not necessary to maintain the Stakeholder List and Stakeholder Register separately
The stakeholder analysis includes following:

1. Stakeholder Identification
2. Stakeholder Assessment
3. Stakeholder Classification

We we complete the identification of stakeholders, it is just a list. In includes information mainly like Name, Title, Contact Information and Role in the organization.

After identification of stakeholders, further, their communication needs, expectations, influence level, interest and power in the project are identified. - These activities are stakeholders assessment.

Based on the above stakeholders characteristics stakeholders can be classed. Power/Interest grid is the popular tool to classify stakeholders.

In summary, stakeholder register includes name, contact details, classification and strategies to manage stakeholders.
