Solution Evaluation

Postby seema.sonkiya Mon May 16, 2016 5:20 am

Got this question:
Evaluation is biggest than Validation, nevertheless

Validation is done by he business

Is Evaluation done by the business too?

In a nutshell what is the main objective for the evaluation?

The objectives of Solution Evaluation is to evaluate how well the delivered solution fulfills the requirements and meets the business need. It is 5th domain of business analysis and includes activities (but not limited to):
• Help in identifying metrics to evaluate the solution
• Facilitate to produce summary report for the go/no-go business and technical decisions when releasing an entire solution or a segment of it
• Help in identifying point of diminishing returns
• Facilitate in identifying new or changed requirements, which may lead to solution refinement or new solutions

The Evaluation is super-set of validation. In validation each individual requirements validated that it will solve the problem.

Please go-through the Solution Evaluation videos from the study material, and ask questions if something is not clear.

As per Business Analysis Practice Guide, the big picture of Solution Evaluation is attached:
