Hello,
My understanding is that Sprint planning is the first scrum event for any sprint, to plan for the sprint deliverables. But does it provide any opportunity for inspection and adaptation? If yes, how?

Thanks,
Vivek

Yes, Sprint Planning meeting is the first ceremony for any Sprint. During Sprint Planning meeting, Product Backlog is inspected to know the priorities and what work can be taken for the next sprint. As a result of adoption, A Sprint Backlog is created during the meeting which is the plan for the sprint.

Got it! So it means that all four Scrum events are inspection and adaptation events.
