Include Project Related meetings as tasks in Sprint Backlog

Hi- I'm having difficulty understanding what tasks to include in the Sprint Backlog when the tasks are not directly the results of disaggregating a user story into engineering tasks. For example, Mike Cohn recommends "identify, estimate, and include tasks for meetings related to the project." He creates a single task of say 9 hours to include planning time and time spent by each team member. However, this task doesn't have an associated product backlog item. Hence, no story points will be counted in a release burndown chart or reflected in a velocity chart, even though the Sprint burndown chart will include it. My question, is it okay to have tasks in the sprint backlog that do not connect back to a PBI? Or should we also create a PBI for those? (Mike does not state this explicitly)

Many thanks,
Lori

You can add any user story in the iteration backlog which is related to the Sprint Goal. Now task can be identified for this user story.

I advise to go through following videos:
