Sanjay have shared this as one of the metrics -
there are several metrics which are being used such as

1. The number of planned sprints in the release
2. The length of each sprint in calendar days
3. The number of story points planned for the release
4. The budget planned for the release
5. Start date of the project

6. Expected % Complete Number of sprints / Total number of sprints planned
7. Actual Cost to date
8. Cumulative story points completed This measures the total amount of work completed for the release as of that sprint boundary.
9. Net Story points added

Yes when we say "Net Story Point Added" it make sense, we do have that in either monitoring contents or in governance.

Net Story Point Added in Given Sprint = Story points Added from Release Scope since last sprint - Story points reduced from Release scope since last sprint.

If you see the Burn - Up Bar Chart , the one explained in Monitoring the lower bar represent this stuff only.
