Acceptance Criteria vs Acceptance Test

Postby khullarg Wed Sep 21, 2016 12:10 pm

As per my understanding acceptance criteria for a user story is generated by customer whereas team can write acceptance test cases to test the subtasks created for a user story. These acceptance tests should be inline to achieve acceptance criteria of the story as a whole.

In question:
Team is finding hard to understand one of the acceptance tests written on story cards. What is the next BEST step ?
1) Discuss with in team
2) Discuss with customer [Correct]
3) Discuss with ScrumMaster

if we are talking about aceptance criteria, i should discuss the same with customer and in case acceptance test which are generally for sub tasks, it should be discussed in team.

Please clarify in case I misunderstood the difference.

Sorry for the delay in the response.

If the team is facing difficulty to understand the acceptance test, it means they need more clarity in acceptance criteria and these are elaboration at the task level. Team is finding difficulty means within the team solution is not available.
