change

Postby KaurP Fri Aug 17, 2018 2:09 pm

Project Manager worked very hard and finally been able to finish his project on time and under budget. Project deliverable has already been accepted by the customer. Everybody is excited that now this project is going to be closed. Next day customer approaches the PM and asks to do some change in that same deliverable. What should PM do now?

A.Reject the request right away as he already accepted the deliverable yesterday and project has been moved to closing phase now.
B. Discuss with sponsor to know what to do now.
C. See the impact of the change he is requesting and raise a change request.
D. Ignore his request.

Customer requested scope change after accepting the deliverable, before project closure.
Option C seems correct even in this case. Is this right?

yes we discussed in clarification session, option C it the right choice. if the project is not formally closed, PM should evaluate the change (if the change is inline with Project charter/Business case of the project)
