communications channels

Postby kushalks87 Sat Nov 25, 2017 6:39 pm

hi Manish

This is the most hackneyed question you have been asked on this forum and webinar however i still have some doubt as to when should we include PM: Sample below. This was easy to nail as answer "36" was not a part of option

Randy is managing a project and identifies that there are 8 stakeholders in the project. He is worried that he might end up with an unmanageable number of communication channels. In your view, how many communication channels does Randy have to plan for?
A. 64 channels
B. 56 channels
C. 8 channels
D. 28 channels

I did some research on the forum and found your answer to the below: Can you please explain which category does the above explanation fit in?

Based on my observations (No standard rule as the language in questions is not always straight forward )

when
question asks how many channels project will have - Include PM
Question mentions - How many communication channels your team has - Exclude PM
Question mentions - X members including PM - Dont add PM to count
Question asks: How many channels will PM (Not project) have dont include PM

Again there is no standard rule, and challenge is when you have both answers in options, including and excluding PM in count.

I would exclude PM from the count.

Again i must admit I am not 100% sure on this
