quality management Control charts

Postby kushalks87 Tue Sep 19, 2017 6:05 pm

Hello,

In control chart if there are couple of points which are outside UCL/LC, do you consider that the process is unstable?

Lets say the attached image is a nut bolt manufacturing company and out of 20 screws they manufactured in an hour only 2 were outside limits, will you consider this as a concern? or to have a couple of special cause variation is fine.

I wanted to really understand want to do when there is a special cause variation in the control chart?
