Quality of Communication

Postby Housam Bassal Sun Feb 05, 2017 4:03 pm

Sami is the project manager of a global project implementing multiple data centers for a company. Due to the nature of the project, he has to manage teams based in different parts of the world and a lot of the communication happens virtually across multiple time zones. As the project is progressing, Sami notices that there has been a gradual deterioration in the quality of communication between the various team members across the globe especially during the weekly status calls. What would you term this?

A: Noise
B: Encoding
C: Medium
D: Message

I think the correct answer is A.

The transmission of message may be compromised by various factors (e.g., distance, unfamiliar
technology, inadequate infrastructure, cultural difference, and lack of background information). These
factors are collectively termed as noise. which will affect the quality of communication.
