This is a Japanese inventory control technique. In this technique , to create higher focus on quality on the few items that are in inventory , very low or no excess inventory is maintained. For example , in a construction project , if you need say 150,000 MT of Cement for a particular important stru...

Since the Company has already invested a lot , so in order to complete the project on time with the EXISTING RESOURCES , Fast Tracking is the best option in this case.

Option # A. Deliver them to the customer.
Since the upper specification limit provided by the Customer is 15.2 cm , the last aluminium dowels produced with 15.2 cm long have no problem with Customer's specification limit. So it can be delivered without any hesitation.

Option # A is chosen.
Here,
Actual cost incurred =$48,000 which is below the Target cost of $50,000 ; So , there is a saving in cost of $2,000. Target Profit=$5,000;
Final price = $48,000 + $5,000 + $2000*50%
= $54,000.

As the ETC is calculated based on bottom up summation , so we need to apply the following formula for EAC:
EAC = AC + ETC Bottom up
