### Re: Pert calculation

Use the formula

SD= Duration Uncertainty of entire path
SD1= Duration Uncertainty of first activity
SD2= Duration Uncertainty of second activity

SD^2 = SD1^2 + SD2 ^2
=18*18 + 24*24= 324 + 576=900
SD^2 = 900
SD= 30

Thanks

### Re: Another pmp question

Hi Celina In the table created by you the mistake you did was you have swapped the values of M and P For example for Activity A O=12; M=15 and P=24 so SD= 24-12/6= 2 Similarly for other activities. Let me explain the value of Optimistic is lowest and Value of Pessimistic is highest, I can see from t...

If you want to know which processes g...

### Re: what is contingency theory

Hi Deepti,
The Contingency Theory says that people naturally want to achieve levels of competency and will continue to be motivated by the desire for competency even after competency is reached. It is a combination of Theory Y behaviours and the Hygiene Theory.

Hi Nandita This is the simplified formula, I cannot simply it any further. In case you find it difficult, follow these steps Multiply the value of C(total number of communication channels) by 2. Then factorize it in such a way that the difference between two numbers is one. Greater of the 2 numbers ...

Yes Nandita. Suppose question says there are total 10 communication channels find the total number of stakeholders Put the value of C=10 in the equation It will be n^2 - n - 20 = 0 n^2 - 5n +4n -20 =0 (factorize 20 in such a way that you get a difference of 1) n(n-5)+ 4(n-5) =0 (n-5)(n+4)=0 either n...

### Re: communication channels

Hi Nandita,
The formula to calculate total no. of communication channels is

C=n(n-1)/2 where n is total no. of stakeholders.
If we know the value of C we will get a quadratic equation
n^2 - n - 2C=0

Solving this equation you can calculate the value of n.

Jyoti

### Re: identifying project stakeholders

Option C is the correct answer. In case of external customer, contract becomes mandatory. Procurement documents are required as an input in Identify stakeholders process to generate Stakeholder Register only in case of external customer, it is an input but not a mandatory input.
