I think option 4 is most apt.

That's the underlying principle of PND and hence the critical path.

Option 1 cannot be deciphered from the data given

Option 2&3 are related to resource constrained critical path i.e. critical chain method.

Option 2 is not recommend as high risk cud be caused through rework in fast tracking.

Option 1 is related to identified risk handling.

Option 4 is related to crashing.

A correction,my oversight in previous post...

CPI at 2 months wud be 4/2 =2
and CPI at 4 months wud be 10/8= 1.25

So CPI>1,but deteriorating.

SPI is increasing as seen from graph.

Hence option D is the correct one.

Option b seems to be apt choice.

As seen from graph,SPI is increasing and if we calculate CPI it remains constant at 0.5 but is less than 1 throughout.

Found it...Pg.225 of PMBOK under Reserve Analysis heading... clarifies that if a contingency buffer is not used ,due to risk not occuring,it should be removed from project budget.

Contingency reserve are derived as a percentage of residual risk of overall project.hence I feel option c seems to be apt.

In the question,risk A has not occurred.So we could keep the reserve for future residual risks.

Aadish, To answer your question,yes there are changes that can be approved by PM.This wud depend on how clearly is it articulated in the project charter.For example,a certain amount of budget approval might b granted to PM for CR approval.Beyond it,a CCB approval would be needed. Moreover,option b would not fix the problem, especially when u have indecisive mind like Jerry in the team.Hence irrespective of the next best step scenario option c would be apt.

Option a seems to be irrelevant send option D seems rude.

It's simple....mean =(UCL+LCL)/2=20.

Last 7 points lie below (on one side of the mean).

Hence due to rule of seven in quality management,process is unstable.
