Re: Reducing cost

I thought so too but Rita believes otherwise. What could be the reason?

She says- Direct costs are directly attributable to the project and variable costs are costs that vary with amount of work accomplished. it is best to look at decreasing these costs!!!

I got confused and thought " Planning control" as we use EVM whilst controlling scope and schedule

What did i do wrong?

Reducing cost

A PM needs to analyze cost to find ways to decrease it. It would be best if PM looks at

Variable and fixed costs
fixed and indirect costs
Direct and variable costs
Indirect and direct costs

There is no right order to this and you will not be asked in the exam on what comes first. Ideally , you will control scope and then validate scope, but there can also be times when you are Verifying/validating scope and you have to control it. Works both ways.

n2-6n+5n=30
n2-6n+5n-30=0
n(n-6)+5(n-6)=0
(n+5)*(n-6)=0
n= -5 or n = 6

Since we cant have -5 its 6

Hence answer is 10+5+6 = 21
